Explore the archaeology of the Ness as part of 2023 Orkney Science Festival

Site director Nick Card will lead an off-season walk around the Ness of Brodgar excavation site in September as part of the 2023 Orkney International Science Festival.

The festival runs from September 7 until September 13, with Nick’s walk taking place on Saturday, September 9, from 11am until noon. Click here for details.

On Sunday, September 10, a walk will explore the archaeobotany and zooarchaeology of the World Heritage Site.

Joining the HES rangers for the walk will be Dr Ben Elliott, from the UHI Archaeology Institute, and UHIAI postgraduate researchers Kath Page, Sue Dyke and Jackson Clark.

They will depart the Ring of Brodgar at 3pm bound for the Stones of Stenness. Click here for details.
