The Ness of Brodgar Trust, with Heritage Lottery Fund financial support, is looking for Orkney-based volunteers who’d like to learn about the art of photographing archaeological artefacts to publication standard.ย

We’re running three two-day workshops at Brodgar later this month, led by archaeologist and photographer Tom O’Brien.

A few examples of Tom’s artefact photos from the Ness.

The dates are Tuesday, November 17/Wednesday, November 18; Monday, November 23/Tuesday, November 24 and Wednesday, November 25/Thursday, November 26. The workshops run from 10am until 4pm. There are four places available on each of the three sessions, so get your name and preferred dates to us quickly!

Email your application, no later than Friday, November 13, to:

  • anne.mitchell@uhi.ac.uk, stating your name and address.
  • Tell us a bit about your photography experience.
  • Advise us if you haveย  future availability to volunteer with the Ness of Brodgar Trust, taking photographs of artefacts.
  • State which of the two-day workshops suits you best.ย
