Birsay tearoom crafts supporting our excavation fund

A selection of Judith’s fundraising handiwork.

If you are out and about in Birsay this month, pop past the Birsay Bay Tearoom.

There you’ll not only be able to suitably quench your thirst and partake of the fine menu – and get warm into the bargain – but you’ll be able to support the Ness of Brodgar excavations too!

The tearoom’s guest crafter for March is Judith King, from Stromness, an expert in the art of tatting – a type of knotted lace. All proceeds from the sale of Judith’s handiwork will go towards the Ness excavation fund.

In March, the tearoom is open from 10am until 4pm.
