A sea of tyres…the Ness when we’ve packed up and gone back indoors.

The Ness of Brodgar site is only open to the public during the summer dig season, when the excavation team are on site.

Outwith this period, the site is covered over (see picture above) and there is no access.

For out-of-season tours, out-of-hours tours, or a guided tour with site director Nick Card (if he is available) during the excavation we ask for a minimum donation to dig funds of £200 or £10 per head, whichever is the larger.
