Our three-day Big Ness Lego Build ended today and has been hailed a resounding success.

From Thursday, our education officer Katy Firth was joined by Lego master builder Alistair Jelks in the Orkney Library, helping Lego masons and architects of all ages create three main reconstructions of Ness of Brodgar buildings:

Our thanks to Alistair, the Historic Environment Scotland Learning and Inclusion Team and Orkney Library and Archive. Not to mention all those who turned up over the past three days to help recreate elements of the Ness.

We’re all incredibly impressed by the finished models. In particular, the one member of the Ness team who, along with his hat, was immortalised in Lego (and even a version wearing glasses). The ultimate accolade!
