Day Five
Friday, July 10, 2026

Week one draws to a close — and what a productive start it’s been.

Today’s efforts centred on teasing out the relationships in both quadrants, a process that brought yet more ard marks to light. In the north‑eastern quadrant, attention remained on the emerging arc of stones, while in the south‑western quadrant, the areas of stony material was defined, cleaned and recorded, to allow further excavation next week.

Joining us in the trench today was Structure Twelve stalwart Michaela, while Jo swapped excavating in the arid temperatures of Egypt for some trowelling in the Orkney rain.

With that, the team heads into a well‑earned weekend to rest tired muscles and recharge. Come Monday, we’ll be back — refreshed, ready, and eager to go.
