Site tours and an open day returning to the Ness this summer

We’re delighted to announce that this summer, for the first time since 2019, we will be offering daily site tours of the Ness dig.

The excavation re-opens to the public on weekdays from July 6 until August 17, 2022. Public tours during that period are free (but please think about a donation) and take place at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. There is no need to book spaces – just turn up on site in time for the scheduled start.

We are also having an open day on Sunday, July 31, with activities on site and in the Stenness Community School.

Naturally the tours and open day are dependent on there being no changes to covid guidelines so keep an eye on the website for any updates.

Fingers crossed we’ll see you on site in July.
