‘Sherd Nerds’ still going strong…

Lucy, Fran, Huw and Sarah are pictured modelling their new t-shirts, which tell the world that they’re Ness of Brodgar Sherd Nerds.

So, what’s a Sherd Nerd?

Cast your mind back to June, when our pottery triage project began. This saw a batch of volunteers begin working through our massive assemblage of Neolithic pottery. At the end of the intended six weeks, a group of our Orkney based volunteers said they were keen to continue. And they’re still going!

Huw came up with the words and design for the “Sherd Nerd” t-shirt and the rest of the team have literally bought into it, with a donation to the Ness as well, on top of their invaluable work over the summer. 

The t-shirts are not on general sale but were specially made for our wonderful group of ceramic stalwarts. (Fran doesn’t like having her photo taken so did the sensible thing and is modelling the back of the shirt)
