Wednesday, August 7, 2013, was a special day in the history of the Ness of Brodgar excavation. That was the day we found the only example of a carved stone ball from the Ness to date.
And now, to raise much-needed funds for the excavation, we are selling limited numbers of carefully crafted replicas online, which we hope you will enjoy holding while pondering the meaning of these enigmatic objects.
The life-size replicas are plaster mould reproductions made for us, in small numbers, by Orkney potter Robin Palmer.
Because of the limited numbers available, we are limiting the number of replicas to two per customer.
