With just one week to go before excavation resumes, we’re appealing for help from anyone free on July 1 and 2.
To re-open the Ness for the 2019 season, we need to remove the protective layers of black plastic, sandbags and (many) hundreds of tyres.
So, if you are in Orkney, of reasonable fitness and can spare us some time, we promise fun with tyres and an experience which will bring you as close to the archaeology as the archaeologists ever get.
We do, however, suggest old clothes, strong footwear, waterproofs and gloves.
If you can help, just turn up at the site for as long as you can manage.
