We were deeply saddened to learn that one of our regular team members, Fraser Dixon, has passed away.

Fraser was one of our regular “meet-and-greet” volunteers during the summer excavation seasons and a familiar, smiling, face to the many thousands of visitors to the site over the years.

Paying tribute today, site director Nick Card said: “Fraser was such a stalwart of the Ness team. He was often the first face visitors encountered when coming to the Ness, when he met and welcomed them to the site. What a wonderful way to start your experience of the Ness.

“He was a true gentleman, who will be sorely missed by us all and fondly remembered.”

Our thoughts are with Fraser’s family at this difficult time.
