Here is a link to a conversation Michael Sinclair had last year about his work as a wood turner, and his inspiration from Orkney’s Neolithic.

Michael and Sara have been consistent supporters of the Ness of Brodgar and we value our friendship with them, and admire Michael’s work greatly.

We have various connections with Orkney’s crafts sector, in all sorts of media, and these provoke imaginative interpretations of Ness motifs and designs, and explorations of different materials, like wood, which may have been part of the range of decorated media used in the past but have long disappeared.

Enjoy the conversation, and a wander through Michael’s creations.
