Due to popular demand we will host two open days this summer – Sunday, July 14, and Sunday, August 4 – on site and at the Stenness school.

This is a change to our previous plans, which had a single open day scheduled for Sunday, July 28.

On the days there will be continuous tours at all three trenches as well as demonstrations and activities at the Ness excavation site.

Down at the school, there will be refreshments, displays and visitors can chat to some of our specialists on matters archaeological.

In addition, this season the site will remain open to the public on the two Fridays – July 12 and August 2 – preceding the open days.
