Hundreds turn out for world premiere of Time Team Ness special

The Orkney Theatre was almost filled to capacity last night for the world premiere of the Time Team Special filmed during the last full season of excavation in 2024.

The queue began forming at 5.40pm, almost two hours before the screening was due to start, leaving us worried we might not be able to fit everyone in. Fortunately, however, that was not the case and we managed, with just a few seats to spare.

Hosted by Time Team’s Dr John Gater, the screening also unveiled why we are returning to the Ness on Monday for a small, targeted excavation – a circular feature to the north-west of Trench T revealed during last year’s ground-penetrating radar survey.

Time Team’s Patreon subscribers now have access to the programme, before it becomes available to all on their YouTube channel on July 18.
