Ness funds received a welcome boost today, with a £2,000 donation from one of our artists in residence, Jeanne Rose.

This summer held an exhibition of her original artworks in the Northlight Gallery, Stromness, with the money raised from sales split between the Ness of Brodgar Trust and and Orkney’s Peedie Retreat charity.

She visited Ness HQ this afternoon where she presented a cheque for to Nick Card and Anne Mitchell.

Over her 12 years as a volunteer for the trust, Jeanne has undertaken many tasks. Since 2018, she has also been a major presence on site, capturing excavation activity in paint. Her work is vibrant and much-loved and will undoubtedly become part of the history of the Ness dig.

We have eight more of Jeanne’s original paintings for sale, also to raise project funds, on our online shop.
