Wednesday wildlife – hunters and prey

Wednesday, April 28, 2021

Our weekly showcase of wildlife photographs from Ness of Brodgar site director Nick Card.

Female hen harrier glides past.
Female hen harrier soaring over the Ring of Brodgar.
Female hen harrier.
Hen harrier on the hunt.
Success. Female hen harrier with a young rabbit it had just snatched from one of the large burrows near the Ring of Brodgar.
Female merlin with a redshank it had just caught.
Meadow pipit.
Noisy oystercatchers.
Tender moments after bonding.
Looking regal in the sunshine.
