Orkney Sycamore Bowl – Energy VII

Description

• This is another interesting piece in the Energy range. The Norse/Viking inspired bowl has been turned with a wide rim which is decorated with hand-applied pyrography and tiny metal pins.
• The outer rim has turned beading decoration  and a natural feature is decorated with an Edinburgh hallmarked and makers mark silver staple and a hammered flat silver staple.
• The bowl is coloured using bronze acrylic paint.
• Sitting inside this is an English boxwood Neolithic inspired timber “petrosphere” with six facets, decorated using a combination of turning, hand-carving and hand-applied pyrography decoration.
• An interesting fusion of two very important eras in Orkney’s history.
• Oiled, sealed and buffed.
