Help fundraise for the Ness while shopping for Christmas

Ola Gorie Brooch

With Christmas on the horizon, if you’re starting looking for gifts why not take a look at our online shop and help boost the Ness excavation fund at the same time as checking off your festive gift list.

Just this week we’ve added a range of Ness-inspired jewellery from renowned Orcadian jeweller Ola Gorie. For many years Ola lived at Brodgar and thanks to her and husband Arnie’s generosity that we are able to continue to excavate part of the site.

Ola Gorie JewelleryThe jewellery is inspired by the Neolithic designs found on site and we are now able to offer specific pieces from the Ness range. Their sale will help us raise funds by a donation from Ola Gorie Jewellery for each piece sold.

The other goods on sale are all unique to the Ness of Brodgar. Each takes its inspiration from the Ness and each brings much-needed income to the Ness. The majority of items are made in Orkney and are the work of Orkney artists and craftspeople.

Woody Musgrove’s book, Karen Wallis’ and Jeanne Rose’s prints and paintings may not be made in Orkney but bring you the Ness of Brodgar as three very different artists see it.

In addition, we have cards for all occasions, books and if you’re looking to keep warm this winter, why not try your hand at one of our knitted hats or mitts.

If you’re looking for your festive shopping elsewhere, you can still help us by using AmazonSmile, which sees Amazon donate 0.5 per cent of the net purchase price (excluding VAT, returns and shipping fees) from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases. Every penny counts.

There’s also easyfundraising.org, featuring 3,300 shops and sites. Join easyfundraising and you can collect free donations for us every time you buy something online. It won’t cost you a penny extra.
